How to Add and Delete an Announcement

Overview

Announcements and Blogs use the same underlying system so these instructions can be used for both.

Steps

  1. Starting Point

  2. Create a new "Draft" Announcement
    http://www.3ecompass.net/dotlrn/classes/3e/leadership/hpg/blog/



  3. Fill-in template
    http://www.3ecompass.net/dotlrn/classes/3e/leadership/hpg/blog/entry-edit



  4. New Announcement
    http://www.3ecompass.net/dotlrn/classes/3e/leadership/hpg/blog/one-entry?entry%5fid=143848

    Select Draft entries to see ALL of the drafts.



  5. All Draft entries listed
    http://www.3ecompass.net/dotlrn/classes/3e/leadership/hpg/blog/drafts

    Select the "garbage can" icon to delete announcement.



  6. Viewing Draft Announcements. Draft announcement "test" has been deleted.

How to add a link in an announcement

The WYSIWYG interface provides a way to add links to your text.

  1. Type the text you want to link.
  2. Highlight the words you want linked.
  3. Click the icon with a world and a chain link.
  4. Put in the url.
  5. Type a Title. This will be the tool tip people will see when they mouse over the link.
