Setting up Permissions for Products in CSMINET

The following is a step-by-step illustration in setting up user permissions for products in csminet.

  1. Log on to http://www.mycsm.com/ecatalog/ as Site-Wide Administrator or use an account with site-wide admin privileges.  This brings you to the ecatalog page.



  2. Find the user to whom you will grant permissions.  To do this, click on User Permissions to proceed to the next window where you may specify the name, or part of the name, or email of the user.



  3. On the search box type in the name of the user, or part of it, or the user's email address.  Then, click OK.  You should be able to see the results of your search.



    Note that you may change the user's password from this page.  To do this, simply click on the Change User's Password link that corresponds to the user whose password you want to change.

    Note also that if search results do not display any user matching the name or email address you have specified, you will given an option to create a new user.  Fill up the required fields and click OK to continue and save the new user's information.



    You may proceed by searching for the new user you have just created.  This new user should now be displayed in your search results as seen in the image.

  4. Set the user permissions.  Click on the Manage User Permissions link that corresponds to the user to whom you will grant permissions.  This brings you to the Grant READ Permissions page where you may set permissions to specific products.



    Simply put tick marks or checks on the boxes corresponding each folder.  Marking a box will mean granting permissions to that folder.  Click OK to confirm.
  5. Permissions granted to the user should already be in effect.  Once the user logs on to his account, he should be able to see the particular folders to which he was given permissions.
