How to Attach Files in Forums

This section illustrates how to attach files in forums.  There are basically a few steps, as follows:

  1. You may post a new message in the forum or reply to an existing post.  Either way will get you to the WYSIWYG editor.

  2. To attach a file, click on the folder icon.

  3. Clicking on the folder icon opens a pop-up that will enable you to locate the file you want to attach.

  4. On the pop-up, specify the URL or the location of the file.  You may also click Open Folder, which further opens another pop-up containing the directory or file storage where the file you are about to attach should be located.

  5. Locate the file and select it by marking the radio button that corresponds to this file.  If you are unable to locate the file, or if the file does not exist, you may upload the file to the file storage.
  6. To upload a file, first make sure that you select or open the folder where you want to save the file.  Click Browse and select the file from your local directory.  Then, click Upload to upload the file.  When the file has been uploaded, you may now select this file by marking the radio button.  Click OK to continue or Cancel to abort.
  7. When you have already located the file for uploading, note that its location is already indicated in the URL (see image of pop-up in Step 3.).  You may also indicate the Title of the file as tool tip but note that this is optional.  Click OK to continue attaching the file or Cancel to abort.
  8. Note that in the body of your post is a link pointing to this file that you have just attached.
