Friend Webs

Friend Webs is an application that creates a dynamic social graph of your friends. It is a whole new way to visualize and interact with your friends on Facebook.  As you watch, relationships between your friends are added to the graph and friends who are friends move closer together.

Creating a New Web

1. To create a new friend web, click Create and select New Web. ­

 

 

2. Drag your friends' photos from the Friend Chooser to the center of your web.
3. When you have completed your web, click Save. A pop up will prompt you to name this web. You may also write a short description or story. Note, however, that the story or description is optional.
4. Click Save on the pop up to continue or Cancel to abort.

 

Creating a New Web from a Group

1. To create a friend web from a group to which you belong, click Create and select New Web from Group.
2. A pop up will prompt you to choose a group. Once a group is selected, Friend Webs automatically creates the web, putting together in a graph all members of the selected group.
   
   
   
   
3. Click Save and specify the name of this web on the pop up. You may also write a short description or story about this web but note that this is optional.
4. Click Save on the pop up to continue or Cancel to abort.

 

 Saving Webs

1. After creating new webs or editing existing webs, click Save to allow all actions or changes to take effect.
2. The Save button should be enabled by default to allow you to save changes at any given time. Clicking Save opens a pop up that prompts you to specify a name for the new web and a short story or description for the web you created.
3. If you wish you change the name of the web or edit the story, saving provides the means to perform these actions. Simply click Save and make your changes on the pop up.

 

Viewing Webs

1. To view the webs you have created, click View and go to the Webs you created tab.
   
   
   
   
2. Choose a web and click Open. This opens the graph of the web you selected.
3. To view webs created by your friends, go to Your friends webs tab, select a friend, and choose from the webs he created.
   
   
   
   
4. As soon as you have selected your friend's web, click Open to view the graph or web.

 

Viewing details of your friends

1. To see your friend's name, mouse over his/her photo.
2. To view more information about a friend, double click on your friend's photo or right-click on his photo and select More about your friend. Doing this will open the Friend Info pop up where you may view your friend's Facebook profile or page, poke your friend, or send him a message.

 

 

Deleting Friends

1. To delete a friend from a web, right-click on your friend's photo that is displayed on the graph.

 

2. Select Remove from this web.

 

Deleting Webs

1. To delete a web, click View to open the Friend Webs pop up.
2. From the pop up, go to the Webs you created tab and select a web to delete.
3. Click Delete to remove the selected web.

 

4. Another pop up will prompt you to confirm deletion. Click Yes to continue or No to cancel.
5. Note that you can only delete the webs you created. You cannot delete webs created by your friends.
