Types of Users and How to Add Them

This following section describes the different types of users and illustrates how to add each.

Employees

This type of user includes employees working for CSM either as regular employees or temps.  They have read access to almost all parts of  mycsm.com

To add this type of user:

  1. Log on to http://www.mycsm.com/ using an account with site-wide admin privileges.
  2. Click on Data/Project Administration from the links displayed at the bottom of the page.



  3. Click Manage Users from the Data Management and CSVs section.



  4. Do any of the following options for this step:
    • Click add employee to add a single employee; or
    • Click bulk upload employees (csv) to add a list of employees



SWA (Site-Wide Administrator)

These are the "superusers" of the system.  They can do anything on the system without any restriction.

To add this type of user:

  1. First, add a regular employee.  You may follow the procedure for adding employees.
  2. Search for the employee on the main employees page.
  3. Click Administer on the row where the user is displayed.



  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page.  Under Administrative Actions, click Grant Site-Wide Administration Privileges.


Time Punch Employees

These users can call from in ivr-integration enabled phone and "punch" their time records.

To add this type of user:

  1. Follow the steps in adding employees, making sure that there is a value for the "last_five_ssn" column.  This column is used to generate the valid IVR ID that uniquely identifies each user when entering their time records.  Additionally, there is an agency column that one can provide so that the user is properly associated with an employment agency.  This is not required and is only used for report purposes.
  2. Log on to http://www.mycsm.com/ as Site-Wide Administrator or log on using an account with site-wide admin privileges.
  3. Click on Data/Project Administration from the links at the bottom of the page.
  4. Click on IVR Integration under the Quick Links section.



  5. Click on Agents.



  6. Click Add agent.



Agency Office Personnel

These users have accounts on the site but are not in the employees group.  They will only have access to edit the data of the employees belonging to their temp agency.

To add this type of user:

  1. Log on to http://www.mycsm.com/ as Site-Wide Administrator or log on using an account with site-wide admin privileges.
  2. Click on Data/Project Administration from the links at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click on IVR Integration under the Quick Links section.
  4. Click on Agent companies.



  5. Locate the company office where the personnel will be added.  Click View Logins on the corresponding row.



  6. Click Add allowed user.



Special Permission Groups

There are several special permission groups which are granted different rights to different portions of the site.  These groups can be seen on the Data/Project Administration page (http://www.mycsm.com/projects/admin) under the Permissions Groups section.  The capabilities of each user are listed in red text under the Group name.

To add this type of user:

  1. Log on to http://www.mycsm.com/ as Site-Wide Administrator or log on using an account with site-wide admin privileges.
  2. Click on Data/Project Administration from the links at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click on the Add users link that corresponds to the particular group which you want to add users to.
