3. GROUP ADMINISTRATION

3.1. SUBGROUPS

Control Panel ⇒ Group Administration ⇒ New Subgroup

Inside DotLRN you can create subgroups which will wok as a different group portal inside the group. Here you can also manage memberships.

This option can be used to organize groups for projects or tasks

To create a subgroup do as follows

  • Go to the Control Panel Tab

  • Under Group Administration

  • Locate Subgroups

  • Click the "New Subgroup" link

  • Now you will have to fill the required information

  • Select the join policy for this subgroup

    • Open

      Anyone can join this subgroup

    • Closed

      None one can join this group only if its added by the Group Administrator

    • Needs Approval

      Members request to join and the Group Administrator decides if it can become a member or not

  • To save changes click the button

  • Now you will be able to select the members for the subgroup

  • Select the members rolls

    • Administrator

      This person can make changes inside this subgroup

    • Member

      These users can only participate in forums, download materials, but cannot make changes to the subgroups configuration

  • After selecting all the members of the subgroup, click the button

  • After that you will have on screen the subgroup members

  • If you want to create more subgroups you can follow the steps shown above
