Caroline Meeks - Bio



Caroline Meeks created Solution Grove to expand the number of organizations that can benefit from OpenACS and .LRN. Solution Grove's recent projects include executive education sites for Harvard University's Kenndey School of Government and Massachusetts General Hospital, online registration system for Museum of Science and many other corporate and nonprofit sites.

Ms. Meeks is a board member of the .LRN Consortium and has served as an OpenACS Core Team (the technical steering body of OpenACS) member and has worked with OpenACS and its predecessor, ACS (ArsDigita Community System), since 1999. She is a graduate of the MIT Class of 1985

Ms. Meeks has worked extensively in the education market segment and helped to found dotLRN, a fully open source eLearning platform based on the OACS tool kit. Ms. Meeks deployed dotLRN at the MIT Sloan School of Management where it is used extensively for online collaboration and communication among all segments of Sloan's diverse learning community including classes, clubs, research, and alumni. dotLRN has been released as an open source product and is currently being translated into over 25 languages and has been deployed at universities in Germany, Austria, and Guatamala and many other countries world wide.

Prior to working as a consultant Caroline Meeks worked for Arsdigita Corporation, the originator of ACS. While at Arsdigita Ms. Meeks was project lead for a contract with Oracle Corporation to build an interactive site for their iDevelop conference series. Ms. Meeks was also project lead for ArsDigita's own intranet and extranet and for their corporate university.
